As a former CFO of Microsoft Worldwide Operations, Ken Hickey brings real-world C-suite executive experience to his client's leadership and business opportunities.
After 30+ years of international leadership roles in world-leading companies, within which I’ve mentored and coached hundreds of successful executives and teams, I’ve learned that my greatest passion lies in developing great people and high performing teams. My work is now focused on helping people breakthrough their barriers to change, unlock their full potential, and transform their personal and professional lives. I seek to guide clients on transformation journeys to unlock new levels of performance, professional impact, and personal satisfaction.
I utilise a number of psychological approaches to help clients gain greater personal awareness of how their beliefs, thoughts, and emotions drive their behaviour. By expanding our self-awareness, revealing our blind-spots and defence mechanisms, we can begin to address long-held limiting beliefs and thinking patterns which are holding us back from our true potential. I work with clients using a person-centered approach combined with supportively challenging them to be ambitious in their transformation goals.
Living in both Ireland and the US, I spent sixteen years of my career with Microsoft in roles such as CFO of Worldwide Operations and CFO of Worldwide Communications Sector.
During the previous fifteen years I held financial leadership roles in Hertz, GE, and AIG, working across the tech, travel, and financial services sectors.
My career experience has enabled me to develop global-level expertise in areas such as People Leadership & Organisation Development, Business Strategy & Planning, Corporate Governance, AI & Digital Transformation, Business Growth, Executive Presence & Influence, Working with Boards, and Career Development.
I spent six years Lecturing in Business Strategy on UCD’s Bachelor of Business Studies degree program. I have a deep interest in Strategy, Leadership, and Organisation Culture and frequently lecture on these topics to MBA and other graduate students.
I have several years board experience in both Executive and Non-Executive capacities.
